How Matrix Got His Groove Back with Eukanuba with 3D DentaDefense

If you know me (and most of you are getting to know me) you will know that my pooch Matrix (my 9 year old Maltese) is my heart.  I've had him for 7 years and cannot really think of life without him.  He used to be a very Spoiled Maltese but I must admit that I have been slacking on spoiling him lately especially when it comes to his dental care.

Happy Thanksgiving!

As I sit with my family enjoying The 86th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and smelling the delicious food being cooked in the kitchen. I'm reminded of what today is all about.  I am so thankful for my wonderful husband, Mr. B.  I am thankful for my family, my friends and my life in general.  God has been truly good to me and I thank HIM for each and every blessing I have received.  My prayer to you today is that you can also find something to be thankful for.  For some the holiday season is a tough time for various reasons.  Today, I want you to find that glimmer of hope and not to give up. The fact that you are alive is reason enough to be thankful.  May God bless and keep you and may you have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Paint in My Eye But Also On My Wall

Yes, oh yes, I begin with the title "Paint in My Eye" because you guessed it I got paint in my eye. Only me.  So why might you ask did I have paint in my eye?  Or even better, how did I manage to get paint in my eye?  Well part of my most recent duties as a BzzAgent was review the Aura paint by Benjamin Moore.  This review couldn't have come in a better time because we are in the process of re-painting our home.  Our living room was this weird chocolate pink color that just didn't flow with the feel we wanted for the house.  In addition, it made the room appear darker especially since it already gets limited lighting.  So when the opportunity came forward for me to get some free paint and make something happen in there I jumped on it.  I will say that we had already purchased the lower level paint (HGTV) from Sherwin Williams but knew this would be an instant upgrade since the Aura paint is paint and primer all in one.

Weekend Rundown

So I had this dramatic list of five things I planned on accomplishing this weekend and I was only able to complete two. Whomp, whomp, whomp.  Truthfully, I was too exhausted to do too much so I did what was necessary.

First, I made Edward Heller's Chicago Cocoa Chili for the cook off on Friday.  This recipe required so many unusual ingredients and just so many ingredients on a whole, I didn't know how it would turn out.  Surprisingly, I was able to do what I set out to do and that was make a unique chili that took you through extreme flavors in one bite.  Each taste took you from sweet to salt to sour to spicy.  The downside was even though it was unique and great it did not place in the contest.  Big boo! LOL  I think it was just a bit too unique for the crowd I was serving it to.  Check out the link above for the recipe if you want to try this chili for your family.

The last thing I did was attend A Christmas Story at Actors Theatre of Louisville. I love the theatre but only recently have been able to enjoy the arts in Louisville.  Last month Mr. B and I saw Romeo and Juliet and it was the best production that I've ever seen.  So I knew not to expect anything less for A Christmas Story.

Mawning!

Yes it has been a while since I have posted in the blog.  I've been thinking about switching formats and have been working with a great up and coming graphic artist to do just that.  However, that's no reason to neglect you all.

Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy shook my world a few weeks ago when she wrecked havoc on my hometown.  My family for the most part were okay but my mom and stepdad were without electricity and heat for a long time.  Thank God PG&E finally got it together and they are doing fine now.  I will be seeing them and my other NYC peeps beginning next week for the holiday.  But that also means Weh Di Go Aan will be going on the road!  I will be blogging about my favorite places to visit when I go to the Big Apple and I may even have a treat on Wednesday, November 28th.

Personally I have been busy, busy, busy.  I made a road trip to Atlanta this past weekend to take care of some final business I had down there.  So now other than visiting family/friends my connection to the Peach State is over.  I also have tons activities going on before I fly out next week.  1) I will be participating in a chili cook off.  Last year I won second place with the Thai Coconut Curry Chili. This year I have something else up my sleeve, 2) I will be painting my living room and doing a review of the awesome Benjamin Moore Aura Paint (#imabzzagent).  I have heard nothing but great things about this paint and I cannot wait to get started, 3) Sewing drapes for my living room. I have already started pinning it and getting everything together.  I will do a tutorial on that for anyone else interested in diy pinch pleat drapes, 4) I must see a live production of A Christmas Story at the Louisville Actor's Theatre before the production is gone forever.  Apparently, they have been doing this play for three years and have decided to retire it.  I am really looking forward to attending this weekend and 5) Begin decorating for the Christmas holiday.  So as you can see I have a lot of work ahead of me for these next few days but that also mean there will be more for you to read and enjoy!

Weh Really Di Go Aan Ya?

Let me introduce you to a segment I like to call "Weh Really Di Go Aan Ya?". It's a spin-off from the title blog that is saying "What's really going on here?"  This is where I will discuss pretty much anything that I feel could use a closer examination.

To kick things off I know this particular video has been buzzing around and has gotten a mixed reaction.  To set the stage, a bus driver in Cleveland, OH told a patron that she cannot ride his bus because she did not have the proper fare amount.  The patron appeared to be intoxicated, started yelling in the bus driver's face (I'm imagining neck rolling and hands flying) and spit in his face.  There were also accounts that she started choking the driver but I don't know if it's true.  The driver then punched her in the face and knocked her out.  WHOA!!!

I won't post the video here but you can find it if you do a search.  *sigh* So I'm conflicted.  I feel like the driver didn't have to knock her out that bad. I understand his frustration but maybe calling the police, forcing her off the bus in another fashion something else instead of knocking her out.  My husband disagrees and felt like if you are going to hit someone be prepared to get hit back. I can't honestly say I know how I would react if someone were to spit in my face or put hands on me.  I really don't. What say you?

Review: Glade Expressions® Collection

So I am a BzzAgent and occasionally I am asked to do a review.  What's a BzzAgent you might ask?

Connecting people and their favorite brands since 2001, BzzAgent is the leading social marketing company. What's that mean to you? We put products in the hands of hundreds of thousands of real consumers and help them share their opinions about them with friends and family via reviews, Facebook posts, photos and videos, blog posts and more. We wouldn't call ourselves heroes, but it's okay if you want to.

So what does that mean for me?! I get to try out really cool products (sometimes for free) and give really great reviews of them. Being a BzzAgent is about helping friends discover new things. It’s showing off your favorite brands and influencing them with your feedback. It’s sharing opinions and starting conversations. It’s adding “Bzz” to the beginning of a bunch of words!

So now that I'm done plugging courtesy of bzzagent.com.  My review today is of the new Glade Expressions® Collection.

Weh Di Go Aan?!

Welcome! I'm Mrs. B and I've decided to jump into this blogging thing.  "Weh di go aan" is a phrase I grew up hearing a lot from my family.  My mom is from the beautiful country of Belize and while English is their native tongue, they do speak a bit of patois they call Creole (not to be confused with French Creole).  It's pretty much broken English.  This is something we say to greet each other or as you may say "What's up?!".  So I figured why not use it for my blog. You'll get used to me using various phrases on this site that you may or may not be familiar with.

So weh di go aan with me? A lot I guess or else I wouldn't have started this blog..or maybe I just think I have things going on.  I'm originally from Brooklyn, NY but currently live in Louisville, KY via Atlanta, GA (I guess I'm a traveler lol).  I'm also a fairly newlywed having got married a year ago.  We just celebrated our first year in our home and we've loving life.  I'm married to a wonderful man and together we raise his teenage cousin. Trust me that's a feat in and of itself...I often feel like the late great Bernie Mac (sigh R.I.P.) when his show was on.

I work in the legal field and have been doing so for 14 years and I may share some office antics in here (nothing specific to protect the identity of the insane co-worker).  I'm typically the youngest person in many of the offices I work in and the things I've seen/learn there are hilarious.   My job isn't my life, though, and I have a few hobbies that I've enjoyed.  I am learning to sew and am developing a passion for it.  I've taken cake decorating classes and I enjoy cooking for my family.  I love to travel and I hope to engage in some more before little feet join the family.  I love to teach children but not necessarily in a formal setting like school but something like tutoring or Sunday school.  I also love to decorate my house and have taken a dip in the DIY pool for some projects. I’ll share some insight as to who I am and what else I do. So I hope you stick around and hang with me as we share with each other....weh di go aan?!

Check mi back lata!
